Hot Rocks
From the Shang Dynasty of China, to the Hualapai people of Arizona, the wisdom of heated rocks has penetrated many cultures.Rocks are heated to about 130 degrees and used with long flowing strokes often accompanied by aromatherapeutic oils such as sandalwood and lavender. Hot Rock Massage is particularly beneficial for increasing circulation and encouraging a deep state of relaxation.
Polarity Massage
This energetic treatment style is designed to affect the charkas and energetic meridians of the body. Deeply meditative and steeped in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine; Polarity therapy is a style that was designed to usher energetic work into the western world. With the Chakra System as a foundation Polarity uses patterned holds and often incorporates one particular element into each treatment. This modality is often done in 8 regular sessions over a 8-12 weeks, but is also effective as a one-time experience. Polarity therapy is particularly beneficial as an adjunct to psychotherapeutic work.
Reflexology
This alternative modality uses the feet and hands to access and affect the energetic fields of many of the organs and systems in the body. Practitioners believe that by stimulating certain zones in the hands and feet, the self-healing system is engaged so that they body may treat itself. This is an excellent service for individuals who cannot receive a typical Swedish or Deep Tissue massage due to time restraints or pathologies that prohibit a full body massage. Treatment sessions are offered with an aromatherapeutic foot bath.
Deep Tissue Massage
This label encapsulates a broad spectrum of different techniques. At Synergy Chiropractic, Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) and Connective Tissue Massage are the main techniques we use to affect Deep Tissue. NMT is a modality that focuses on finding and addressing patterns of pain. By addressing trigger points and pain patterns, NMT breaks the pain cycle caused by nerve entrapments, adhesions, and contracted tissue. By restoring functionality to effected muscles, circulation is restored, pain is eliminated, and mobility is improved. The style of Connective Tissue Massage has evolved from the field of Structural Integration, so posture and patterns of movement play a big role in the evaluation of each client. Techniques taken from Structural Integration styles are integrated with other personalized techniques to address adhesions in muscular and fascial layers of the body. By freeing these adhesions, patients achieve greater circulation, more appropriate posture, less pain, increased range of motion, and a higher level of efficiency in movement.
Reiki
This ancient healing system is non-invasive and can be beneficial for everyone. Deeply relaxing, centering, and a great adjunct to the healing of many of the bodies systems, Reiki is an experience everyone should have at least once. Reiki draws inspiration from The Chakra System, practitioner intuition, and energetic holding patterns to address imbalances in the energetic field.
